The Professor’s Secret Sweetheart

It tells the tortuous and touching love story between Ophelia, a disadvantaged female college student, and Marrick, heir to a top wealthy family. Switched maliciously by her adoptive mother Kaelin when she was little, Ophelia is the biological daughter of the Slin family but grew up in the slums. She was constantly exploited and oppressed by her harsh adoptive parents and idle adoptive brother, barely keeping up with her studies through multiple part-time jobs. To raise money for her adoptive father’s so-called medical bills, she strayed into danger in the black market and chanced upon Marrick, her university’s finance professor and heir of the Hurst family. After an unexpected one-night encounter, she conceived twins. Trapped in forbidden love due to their teacher-student relationship, Marrick appears refined, restrained and distant from others, yet he is intensely possessive deep down. He takes Ophelia to Frostmoor Manor and cares for her tenderly. Still, Marrick has always remembered the girl who saved him in his youth, and he was previously engaged to Charis, a ballerina with the same teardrop mole. After Charis returns from her tour, she notices Marrick’s special affection for Ophelia and begins to target her relentlessly, spreading rumors everywhere and fabricating false romantic scenes to frame her. As the plot unfolds, Ophelia’s perseverance and kindness gradually win Marrick over. Marrick’s mother Vivienne also grows fond of her and secretly looks after her from time to time. However, Charis teams up with Kaelin to plot a scheme, creating false evidence that Ophelia is romantically involved with someone else. They even attempt to drug Ophelia and harm the twins during her prenatal check-up. At the critical moment, an old voice recorder uncovers the whole truth: it was Ophelia who saved Marrick all those years ago. Charis is merely Kaelin’s biological daughter, the infant swapped in that malicious scheme. Once the fraud is exposed, Charis turns malicious. Kaelin’s crimes of baby swapping, long-term extortion and violence are also brought to light, and both mother and daughter are sent to prison. Ophelia’s birth parents are filled with remorse and do their utmost to make amends to their daughter. All misunderstandings are fully resolved. Marrick calls off his fake engagement with Charis and devotes himself entirely to protecting Ophelia. Ophelia safely gives birth to a boy and a girl. Three years later, she successfully graduates from university, sheds her past inferiority complex, and grows into a poised and dignified heiress. She lives happily with Marrick and their two children, while the elders of both families get along peacefully, enjoying a stable and blessed life. This drama incorporates popular elements including sweet romance, dominant male lead, teacher-student romance, identity swap, and the true and fake heiress trope. With delicate emotional portrayal and progressive suspense arrangement, it depicts the heroine’s transfor
